Glass fiber pressure vessels (CFF) use a single fiber type as the composite reinforcement. They are composed of the aluminum liner and resin-impregnated structural S-Glass. These pressure vessels carry the same degree of safety as a carbon cylinder but have a single material type as reinforcement which makes the cylinder more sensitive to surface damage. They are DOT-SP 11005 rated.
This is a 3,000-psi cylinder and requires hydrostatic testing every 3 years from date of manufacture.
It has a 15-year life limit.
Note: This cylinder is generally used in European applications where it can be filled to 3,000 psi (207 bar)
Generally filling in the US is limited to 2,200 psi.
