FAA-CAMI successfully tested the MH ALPS face mask (with or without microphone) with the EDS-ip system. It is one of the most popular members of the Mountain High family of products. The mask’s electronic “David Clark” ambient-noise-canceling amplified Electret M-7A microphone enables pilots to fly with safety and comfort with clear, crisp voice communication. This M-7A is the most advanced noise-cancelling microphone available.
The mic cable attaches to a U-173 delta-type military-style connector and terminates in the standard PJ-068 jack.
For use with the LEMO connector, the PA-100B BOSE microphone-only switch-over adapter is required.
Exchange one ALPS microphone to another ALPS mask, or easily add it to a non-microphone mask.
The mask is easy to put on and exceptionally comfortable as it does not require a polyvinyl bag. Feed tubes allow connection to any of the Mountain High Oxygen Systems. Feed tube connectors plug into EDS-ip built-in oxygen systems, EDS or constant-flow portable oxygen systems. The constant-flow mask is also compatible with most other constant-flow systems that incorporate a flowmeter.
Choose the mask size that’s right for you. All styles are available in small, medium or large. Therefore, view the Documentation tab for help in choosing the size that will best fit your face. The ALPS mask is also available with J-type brackets for helmets. (Call)
NOTE: For early-style built-in (ip) systems choose the twist-lock feed tube. For later built-in (ip) systems choose the EDS-style feed tube.
Part 23.1447 (c) states:
